We sat down with upcoming artist from NYC Isobella Caroline.

What is your name and what city do you rep?

My name is Isobella Caroline Boucher and the city I represent is New York City. A big shout out to NYC.

What is unique about you and your music?

Hmm, that is a good question. Unique about me and my music?. I believe at times speaking of yourself as unique is somewhat overrated. “sigh” Yet I am unique because I am ‘me’ to begin with, just as we all have a unique fingerprint to the world. I believe that unique fingerprint may well be seen, heard and developed in my music. I was told when I first began my musical journey, my music held no boundaries, in one article spoken of my first CD “Was it all a Dream?’ I would personally describe boundaries” as limits of expression and artistic/personal growth”, something I believe as artists we should try to surpass. My music is unique because I somewhat rebel against genres in music .

What shaped your music?

The shaping of my music began very early as I have been trained professionally in ballet and modern dance. The array of music I have been surrounded by ranged from Bach to The Dead can Dance, so in that , I have been fine tuned to the eclectic. Yet the actual shaping of my music would come from the classical forms. a few of my first actual compositions of music where classical. Then I began to off spring into the range of electronica pop, which at the present time is the venue I am on with my music.

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?

I still haven’t, *kidding. I was surprised at first by so much encouragement in my music. The first time I heard my music playing in a store on their sound speakers actually put me in a bit of surreal awe. I was standing there , hearing my music ,saying “oh my , it sounds good” yet it was me !!!! I was shocked.

What type of music do you listen to?

I listen to all kinds. The full range from classical to hard core rock.

Who, to you, is the most undervalued music artist?

I have never thought of that or as a question. I refuse to answer that because I do not want to put one artist in the spotlight of being undervalued. I cannot answer it.

How do you prepare for your performances?

I prepare for my performances with forethought, practice and rehearsals. I believe in practicing since going on stage is scary enough without being prepared.

What ignites your (song) writing flow?

I believe life ignites my song writing flow along with my poetry. I would say emotion would be the fire to most of my songs. The full spectrum of feelings we go thru in relationships, life , the ups n downs the world brings and love are the main factors.
What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are
passionate about?

More art, life , and love are my passions.  When I am not doing music I am still creating. I am also an actress, film and theater. I love to work out, do yoga, along with drawing.

Success to you is…

Accomplishing goals, feeling good about what you are doing, and a feeling of contentment along with love.

Any upcoming projects?

Yes, I have many upcoming projects. The one I am most excited about is my new cd that will be coming out this spring. It is called “Cupid Arrows” The full copulation will feature 10 of my newest tracks.
