Exclusive Artist Up Next Interview with Chris Reddick

What is your name and what city do you rep? Chris Reddick and I rep the lone star state Dallas, Texas

What is unique about you and your music? Well honestly, I’m a different type of artist. Most of the music that comes out of Dallas is for the clubs, basically dance music. Hip Hop is alive in Dallas. Music is about connecting with one’s mind, body, soul, and spirit producing a movement from within. Music is about the struggles and lifestyle of the artist. We call that culture.

What shaped your music? The struggles of life and the lifestyle that I live.

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally? I realized my love for music at the age of 3 years old. I started playing instruments such as Drums, Bass and the keyboard. When I was 12, I started writing stories and by the age 17, those stories turned into songs. Eventually, I started writing to instrumentals on youtube. The first time I recorded I had no style, timing or delivery. I went into a state of depression but I realized music is my gift and that I can do this. I said to myself, I will not quite until I reach the world.

What type of music do you listen to? I have an open ear to every genre of music. I listen to rap more than anything though.

Who, to you, is the most undervalued music artist? Myself and Nas

Who would you collab with out of any Artist or Producer? Jay-Z and DJ Khaled

What ignites your writing & creative juices? Everything around me ignites my creative juices. I think most important the struggles of life. I love to tell stories. In life, everyone is creating their own story but not everyone is able to tell it. I will…

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about? I love to draw. I am passionate about a person of fine arts, art museums

If you weren’t making music professionally, what would you be doing? I would be a custom designer for menswear. I love fashion and I love to look good.

Success to you is… Finding yourself, then being yourself and finally trusting yourself. Some people aren’t successful because they might not know who they really are.

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help an artist starting out? Music is a business, anyone makes a hit. But as the music turns off will you still be relevant.

Any upcoming projects or tracks you are apart of? Yes, the EP that I am working on for Warner Bros Records. It is called Forgiven
