What is your name and what city do you rep?
*Im Pharoah, Owner/CEO/President/Artist/Songwriter of C.E.O. Business Production Label and I put on for the 501, Little Rock, AR
What is unique about you and your music?
*My music is not one dimensional, my organization and I attempt to stay versatile. We make music that anybody can relate too, not just hip hop fans. Also, our music is nothing more than story telling poetry. I describe events that either, I’ve personally encountered or know of someone that have encountered. Lastly, the concept behind my music is to motivate my listeners that if you never give up or stop trying, regardless who supports you or who hates on you, you’ll “Conquer Every Opportunity” that you encounter.
What shaped your music?
*Of course all the greats before me (both the living greats and the deceased greats).. There are too many artist, producers, and executives to name, but I respect the success of EVERY person in this industry. I like most genres of music, so I take tools from each of them and secure what I have retained in my tool box.
When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?
*Music was something that I have done since a small child, prior to my teenage years, but I didn’t consider making it my actual profession until I was about 21. I always knew I would be great and that the world would know my name. However, before I was 21 I didn’t know how I was going to go about doing that. Honestly, I thought it would be in sports, but an injury stopped that. I was just tired of working under someone for less than I knew I was worth.
What type of music do you listen to?
*I listen to hip hop the most of course, however, I love most genres. The only genre that I don’t listen to much is heavy metal and it’s only because I don’t understand it well. I still have the utmost respect for it’s culture though. I will attempt to listen to it every so often because I learn from every genre, even heavy metal.
Who, to you, is the most undervalued music artist?
*I feel there isn’t just one.. the most undervalued artist(s) are the one’s that are not in the spotlight. The artist that get overlooked because they don’t have the funds, resources, networking, or they are in a bad market area. There are some really great unsigned artist that have the talent and the hustle and deserve to be in the spotlight, but lack everything else.
Who would you collab with out of any Artist or Producer?
*I have a long list of artist and producers that I wish to collab with eventually (especially from the hip hop community, from the Living GOAT’s of Eminem,Wayne,Cube,Dre,Mike Will,Timbaland,Mannie Fresh,Master P,Drake, Nas,Jay-Z,Erykah Badu,Kendrick Lamar,Chance,Migos,J.Cole,Big Sean, to the newer artist of 6ix9ine, Uzi,Yachty). However, my top 3 would be either Rae Sremmurd, Post Malone, or Bruno Mars. I know we would make garunteed masterpieces and I know it would be alot of fun.
What ignites your writing & creative juices?
*Just the thought of Having power and living the good life. I want to run the world, not in a dictating way but more so, doing whatever in life that I wanna do with no problems. I the ability and the “power” to create the same opportunities that I pursue, to anyone else who derseve it, while also providing them with the blueprint. I’m a provider and a leader, so often I go to this place in my mind were I feel that a lot of people are counting on me to make their dreams come true too, I can’t let them down.
What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?
*I’m a businessman and an entrepreneur, so I’m always researching and strategizing ideas of of how to expand even outside of the music. I’m passionate about having power and helping others to also succeed in life. To have power and to help others you have to create businesses and opportunity. I love business and entrepreneurship.
If you weren’t making music professionally, what would you be doing?
*I’m also currently involved with real estate, so I would still be doing that. I would still be entrepreneuring and creating businesses and I would be involved more in sports as well.
Success to you is…
*Success to me is living a stress free life while reaching and/or exceeding your goals. It’s not all about how much money you make or who knows you, as long as you’re happy. Coincidently, for me, the world knowing of me, my income and having power are all goals of mines.
What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help an artist starting out?
*Learn the game on your own. If you have guidance, great, but don’t count on and only depend on that. Alot of people that could help you throughout your journey, that have the resources, funds or knowledge, will not assist you. If you learn the game on your own, you don’t have to depend on people and won’t have to suffer being let down. It’s a wonderful feeling!
Any upcoming projects or tracks you are apart of?
*Yes, my organization and I have 2 mixtapes in the library not released yet and we are currently working on several more. We are tryna flood every music outlet. We have just finished a few projects with the legendary Project Pat and the blazing upcoming Henry AZ (Juicy J and Mofaces artist) , while preparing to start on other collaborations with several other artist.
