What is your name and what city do you rep?
TP from Memphis, Tn
What is unique about you and your music?
I engineer & produce the majority of my music, but I still go the studio sometimes. I have to go and be in a professional studio setting when I feel like Ive been having writers block.
What shaped your music?
Basically just things that I’ve experienced in my life. My music is largely dependent on my mood of the beat & the vibes of the studio I’m in.
When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?
Honestly just watching my brother, GoGetterGwalla, he seriously motivated me to actually take everything about it serious (music) & Im not even sure if he knows that or not, but shoutout to you slime. But just seeing the reactions people have listening to my music gives me a feeling I can’t explain. I love it no cap, im never stopping.
What type of music do you listen to?
On a daily I usually just ride out to local Memphis artist, i’m rooting for this city hard we up next for sure! But being completely honest, I listen to all genres. Im not biased when it comes to music if it sounds good i’ll listen.
Who, to you, is the most undervalued music artist?
Of course i’m supposed to say myself so yeah, that. But one of my favorite producer/artist – Pierre Bourne he on a whole different level man it’s crazy. There’s also a lot of artist in the city of Memphis that go CRAZY, I won’t get into specifics just so I won’t leave anybody out because it’s so much talent I know I will, so I say the whole MEMPHIS! Tune in to everybody.
Who would you collab with out of any Artist or Producer?
Producers – Tay Keith, Zaytoven, Juicy J, Pierre Bourne. I honestly don’t have a specific list of artists I want to work with.
What ignites your writing & creative juices?
My brain is always flowing with new ideas, but like I said it’s all based on the vibes because one minute I could be in the zone & make 10 songs in day, then the next I could be in my bag as far as producing a whip up a pack of banging a** beats. It’s all based on how i’m feeling at the time.
What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?
Im the CEO of my independent label Wealthy Warriors Music Group, and when i’m not making music i’m usually networking with other creatives trying to find ways for all of us to make it out.
If you weren’t making music professionally, what would you be doing?
Probably would be either engineering/producing at studio as my actual job. But if it was neither of those I would put alot more of my time into my graphic arts company, Complex Visuals.
Success to you is…
I don’t think there’s an exact answer, success to someone could be not having to work for anybody, then to another person it could be having millions. But I feel like success is whatever you’ve set as goal and then achieve, you feel what i’m saying? That’s success to me.
What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help an artist starting out?
I wish I knew finding & marketing to your specific niche, that way your music isn’t being seen by people who wouldn’t even listen know what I mean?
Any upcoming projects or tracks you are apart of?
Im dropping my 3rd solo project August 23rd entitled “We Want More Guap”, the title is basically a play in words for the acronym WWMG (Wealthy Warriors Music Group), definitely some of the hardest music i’ve created so far. One to look forward to.
