It was officially Hoodie SZN on the Late Night with Seth Meyers set Wednesday night (Jan. 16) as A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie performed “Look Back at It” off of his sophomore album. The 23-year-old started by singing a stripped-down version of his 2017 song “Drowning,” while illuminated in blue light and, of course, hooded. About 30 seconds later, Boogie’s band transitioned into a familiar melody and rhythm (partially borrowed from Michael Jackson’s “You Rock My World”) to signify the beginning of “Look Back at It.”
Throughout the performance, Boogie flashed his smile as often as his chains, rapping, “The way you walkin’, the way you talkin’, it’s all because of me/ And the way I’m all on you, girl, you know it’s true.”
Boogie’s performance comes on the heels of Hoodie SZN becoming his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. Prior to the show, Boogie took over the Late NightInstagram story where he bragged about his “No. 1 album in the world,” chatted it up with Meyers and gave fans a peek at how he warms up his voice.
